Apple Custard | 24 Days of Tea: Day 20
We hope you’re sitting down. Because we’re about to make a pretty bold claim. This might just be the most decadently creamy blend we’ve ever tasted. Seriously. It’s almost crazy how much it tastes like a warm and comforting custard or pudding. It blends sweet apples, golden raisins and honey-scented chamomile with a rich and creamy hint of vanilla. Go ahead, indulge. With this in your cupboard, who needs dessert?
aroma:
The welcoming aroma of this tea is heavily dominated by candied apples with a strong honey presence and a touch of warming spices including cinnamon. Vanilla notes add a lovely sweet creaminess to the blend while a bit of raisin balances it out. The chamomile is barely noticeable under the heady honey.
flavour:
Slightly more subdued than the rich aroma, the flavour of Apple Custard is still one of strong candied fruits and a powerful honey presence. More to the raisin side than the apple, the opposite of the aroma, it is nicely balanced between sweet and slightly tart with great warming spice notes. A lingering sweet raisin flavour brings the vanilla more to the foreground and the honey is strong throughout. The flavour of the chamomile is very subtle but provides a great backbone for the decadent and sweet flavours.
